I've never tried it and never planned to, but with how long it was down, I can't say I'm surprised that it's gone.
I can't say I care either. If it means more time focused on things that matter, I say go for it.

Good news!!
This almost made my day, but I'm sad the reason for dropping this project was not that it was 'legit' RMT and Anet changed their stance about that... this still leaves them open to sell ingame wealth for real cash in another way...

To the people whom had bought 1 or 2 extra...I'm very saddened...including myself.
.....and to the people who were rumored to have over 50 accts specifically to collect free keys ..........Theres an very old wise phrase that has been passed down from generation to generation from 1000's of years ago...
Sux To Be Ju!!!!
R.I.P extra accts specifically purchased for the XTH R.I.P
P.S. Could we trade in three tyrian accts for say..one eotn upgrade???? good deal no? Win win??? perrty please?
Edit. Well I guess Nicholas could get some extra visitors when in Tyria if i feel like moving chars foward.......bahhhh!

Actually, a lot of people still use extra accounts for Nicholas, botting PvP, etc. They didn't exactly go to waste for the people that have them.
P.S. I have 2 accounts, but only use one. My other account was given to me by a friend who quit GW after the XTH died.

If I were you, I'd keep this type of comment to yourself. The whole exclusive word wont sit well with a lot of people.
I'm merely pointing out...its easy to make a statement like this. But it could bite you. You never know what could come of this.
Just saying, I wouldnt be surprised if something like zcoin trade value gets changed if key value grows out of hand.
Lets just follow a possible scenerio you are suggesting. Pvper's now have exlusive control of zkeys and its value. The fact is, it could back fire on people wanting to sell zkeys for a huge price. If the price of a zkey goes through the roof, then "pvpers" will have a hard time selling them.
The fact is as of right now. Theres a lot of people who can generate a lot of zkeys in very little time through tourneys. At a 3,4, or 5k value...thats a lot of cash. You want to be even more greedy and make it a lot higher??
It could potentially backfire on you. Be careful to think things through.

although i knew this was coming as soon as they removed it..gg anet apparently been working on it for close to a year but actually been sitting there instead doing nothing xD i dont believe its cause they wanna work on gw2 either cause thats been delayed ..and our skill update i just think its cause they dont want players having all those free keys cause by the end of it i knew loads of players with 5 accounts + each just for the keys..but yeh i want my may points xD and skill update

Can you drop the word "new" from the title of this thread?
Tis a bit misslading. I came here thinking there was gonna be a "new" XTH.
yet it seems there will never be a "new" XTH.

After almost a year with no new information, this really isn't a surprise to me. I'm still saddened with the decision and once again disappointed with Anet. Whatever.
I'd like to see Meridon's question answered though, are still going to get the points for the May predictions?

I have a feeling you should prepare for more disappointment.
They said those were tied to the XTH's problem.....

glad we finally have the final word that they have truly given up on it (asked for that in regina's LAST thread, got what I wanted).
but still would like to have those PROMISED points! (unless anet wants to go back on yet another promise)

How hard would it be for anet to credit everyone a few points? I'm fairly positive you don't need to have an XTH give the points, just simple batch add point to peoples accounts in the Database, maybe enough for one or two keys.

The problem with that is that it's significantly less than most people earned. And, Linsey has already said that they have the correct amount of points for each person and that they were bumped up to the next reward bracket. So, it shouldn't be hard for them to just give us those points. Not hard at all.
However, Anet has a way of lying to us and/or not delivering on promises. So, I still doubt we'll get them.

I don't see why people are complaining. The Zkeys were free. Anet did not have to give them out. They were only there to generate interest in AT's, in which they succeeded. I only wish they had admitted it was broken beyond repair a long time ago. At least fess up to any mistakes you make.

Lol, when I announced this to friends, quite a few were surprised. I still never understood why they decided to revamp it in the first place. Unless this was all some elaborate scheme to get players to buy more accounts and then once multiple people have bought 5+ accounts for monthly zkeys, have it "break". Oh the conspiracies!!!! D:
